Sidmouth U9's v Kingsbridge U9's

On a bitterly cold morning we all faced the long trip down to Kingsbridge for our first ever fixture there. Checking their web site showed them to have beaten all comers this season and with a large squad and with us missing 8/9 players we coaches were secretly worried how things would pan out.

As usual, no need to worry!S0210883

Faced with having to play 2 matches meaning many of our team would have to play twice did nothing to slow them down  as they tore into Kingsbridge with gusto!!

Sidmouth quickly forged a 0 - 10 lead leaving the Kingsbridge team and coaches scratching their heads. In the second half Kingsbridge scored but immediately Sidmouth restored their 10 point advantage and comfortably held on to win 5 - 15.

The second game proved closer but still Kingsbridge had little answer to Sidmouth's very strong running and especially tackling. With a try in each half Sidmouth ran out winners by

5 - 10.

Everyone agreed that both teams played very well and the spectators were treated to rugby with somewhat more passion than we saw at Sandy Park the previous evening!!

Special mentions this week go to Charlie with 5 tries, Ethan for some great defence and the forwards for great mauling.
