Sidmouth U9'Ss V Honiton

Sidmouth 60 - Honiton 5

The extra hour in bed paid dividends for the Sidmouth team as they arrived at Honiton with an opposition eager to make amends after losing to Sidmouth in the recent festival.

Sidmouth fielded two teams, the first game was end to end, both teams matching each other with tries. Cleo Turley and Esme Bagwell making some strong runs and scoring tries followed up by Bradley Horn, Ned Coles and Ellie wood all scoring. Lucy Tanner who made some excellent tackles and finished off a perfect move to score in the corner and earned player of the match. All in all a great display by the team which featured several new players to rugby.

The second Sidmouth team took to field and looked in good shape, all desperate to start playing after watching their teammates. They didn't disappoint as the went through and scored within seconds. Some amazing tackling through the game and in particular by Charlie Brock (man of the match) saw a clean sheet at half time as Sidmouth were ahead by 7 tries at the break. A quick refreshment and the boys were all pumped up to keep the defensive line. Again all the players were throwing themselves over the pitch to keep that clean, more tries were chalked up. Honiton did manage to get a score but by then Sidmouth had already hit double figures. A fantastic display for only their third friendly game by Tom Cloud, Will Pullman, Ben  Elsom, Finn Cotton, Charlie Brock, Oliver Marsh, Morgan West and. Luca. Manning.
