Sidmouth U9's vs Tiverton

Sunday 19th October

Sidmouth 45 - Tiverton 5

After a wet week the sun was shining on the Sidmouth under 9s. Tiverton arrived for their first match of the season to the sun beaming down on the Sidford pitches to face two Sidmouth teams.

The first game saw Tiverton go into the lead through some good running, slipping out of several Sidmouth tackles. At the break it was 2 tries to 1 for Tiverton. Sidmouth made a substitution at half time with a new player Morgan West who made an immediate impact. Sidmouth were now in front and maintained the lead until a late try by Tiverton saw the game tied.

Match 2 and this was a stronger Sidmouth side but only with half a team of experienced players. As Sidmouth got into their stride it was all one way traffic, with nearly all the team scoring. Tom Cloud, Will Pullman and Ben Elsom all sprinting the length of the pitch to score tries. The seven tackle count was relaxed for a flagging and spirited Tiverton side who managed to score at the end of the first half. The second saw Sidmouth dominate running in further tries from Finn Cotton and Morgan West.

A fantastic day of rugby for the supporters who were basking in the late autumn sunshine. Next week Honiton who will be desperate to make amends after losing to Sidmouth in the festival 2 weeks ago.
