Bridport V Sidmouth U8s

We had a great turnout today at Bridport where we were met by a well drilled side and a thankfully quiet Antipodean coach along with a sizable team from Weymouth.

The pitch was set out at regulation size for our age group which allowed us to have 2 sides of 10 and lots of quick games with some great defence and good running rugby and as far as I could count, Sidmouth came out on top.

While that was pleasing, there were a few too many dropped balls that allowed the opposition to break through and score – hopefully the boys will remember the importance of good passes and good hands for next week’s game against Exeter Chiefs at their Cat and Fiddle training ground – details of which to follow later in the week.

The game finished up with a mass "Tag-Bulldog" with all 55 kids against the coaches until they lost both tags – a fair bit of mayhem that ended with Noah Clifton being last man standing, which, added to his impressive tagging and passing in the games, made him player of the week – well done Noah!
