Sidmouth Vs Honiton U7s

Under 7s new kit

Sidmouth U7s this week welcomed visitors  Honiton to our Sidford ground,  with many clubs often finding it difficult to fulfil fixtures in numbers,  Honiton unfortunately were only able to muster 7 players and were in awe of the 28 players we were able to field

This meant it was a busy encounter for Honiton with them playing 4 x back to back games against fresh legged Sidmouth teams , alongside this we played a number of supporting games against ourselves. It  was great to see so many players on the field accompanied by the rain holding off and a big crowd of Sidmouth and Honiton parents supporting both teams providing a perfect end to back to back  fixtures  for the past 6 weeks ahead of one last training session before the  Christmas break.

The high level of skill shown from both teams with ferocious tagging and quick passing meant that every game was closely contested with long periods of continuous play. With all the games played many players showed great steps of improvement and naturally at this early part of the season a few mistakes from both sides. Player of the day was awarded to Ted Woodman, whom has only been playing tag rugby for two months but showed great determination, improvement in all areas of his game and a true Rugby team spirit.

Results from the games played saw many of the games drawn and some very close scores, overall a draw between both sides was the final outcome of the fixture,  a great day for all involved with thanks to Honiton for being competitive visitors.

With back to back home fixtures this month now ended, we look forwards to a simple training session next week and then our Christmas party for the junior teams.
