Sidmouth U7 take 4 teams to Exmouth

On a sunny October sunday Sidmouth produced 4 U7 teams to play Exmouth at their home ground. The teams were a good mix of last years U7 veterans and new players.
All the teams provided some excellent rugby to watch with last years players like Alec Bagwell and Sam Hartland linking up again to produce some good flowing rugby. The newer players Luca and Zac Arver proved very hard to stop on the crash ball giving their team a good number of tries.
The Exmouth all-black team and the Sidmouth all-black team provided one of the best under 7s matches I have seen, the Exmouth side winning 8-6. Both sides tagged well with the ball passing through at least 5 sets of hands each time before a try was scored. A mention must be given to Thomas Grove who has evidently been practising his side-step during the off season.

Sidmouth U7/U8s Girls team vs Exmouth

It was a victorious first outing of the season at Exmouth for the combined u7/u8 Sidmouth ALL girls team.  The skills of  Daisy , Annabel, and the two Ellies, Sidmouths seasoned players, gelled well with the enthusiasm and energy of the younger newcomers Tilly, May, Georgia & Harriet in two tense and exciting games.  The first game proved the girls dominance over the Exmouth boys running out 8 -4 winners.  The second game required much more effort, and after a slow start there was dramatic change of pace after half time to come through victorious 8 – 7 against Exmouth’s mixed team.  Special mention for some astounding sprinting to Ellie W. and for massive valour tagging huge opposition by tiny newbie Harriet.  Well done to all the girls for a great turnout and performance.
