Honiton 10 Sidmouth 19

A cutting wind and heavy ground greeted a shivering Sidmouth side who started well once again with an opening minute try from a straight running Stamp which Harris converted.

The larger Honiton side kept Sidmouth pinned in their half for much of the remaining period and a series of kick and run moves from Honiton provided territorial advantage and a ground out try.

Cold hands prevented both sides from moving the ball easily with a series of scrums and rucking putting Sidmouth forwards under pressure. Straight running from Honiton brought out the best in Sidmouth's tackling but possession eventually paid off again with Honiton securing a second try to lead 10-7 in the first half.

Mead rebalanced the game with another early doors try which Harris converted as Sidmouth noticeable stepped up a gear, moving the ball quickly and with excellent forward play in both scrum and ruck against a heavier opposition. A further quick move earned Tidball a try as Sidmouth secured the game, bringing a warm glow to their ardent supporters and a stampede for a warm mug!
