Under13 v South Molton

South Molton 26 Sidmouth 38

Dry conditions prevailed on the hill top at South Molton as Sidmouth ground out an convincing victory with a bare minimum of 15 players.
The mid devon outfit sprang into action with several unthreatening phases of play before Sidmouth duly obtained possession and galloped in their first try through Sean Harvey. More sensible basic play followed and the young Sids increased their tally through Dom Bernhardt, Josh Roberts and Big Jo. Molton then utilised their strong runners to breach the Sidmouth line through some flimsy defence and the first half drew to a close with Sid 4-1 up.
In the 2nd half the boys added a couple more trys through the unstoppable Mr Elsworth before capitulating in many areas of play. The mind-set of a successful team must remained focused at all times or risk a tidal change and with the flood gates open Molton gleefully romped through for multiple scores. But for some monster tackles from Mattie Laurenti and vital steals from Man of the Match Louis Shrimp the damage could have been worse. Importantly the lads held firm enough to take the victory and can now look forward to a sharp learning curve in the art of Game Management - which should be fun !!
Well done to the lads and all supporters who made the long trip inland.
