Crediton U13s 5 Sidmouth 17

The Sidmouth U13 squadron ventured out to mid Devon last Sunday for a tricky encounter with the mighty Crediton.

The first hurdle for the travelling supporters was narrowly avoiding the mobile Police speed gun just north of Cowley bridge ! With that successfully negotiated the team embarked on a feisty mud wrestle with Crediton's youth. The opposition pinched the first try against the run of play and Sidmouth soon realised their successful forward play of the last two games was being thwarted. Plan B was swiftly derived at half time and contrary to the standard playing protocol in 4 inch deep mud Sidmouth ran the ball superbly in the slippery conditions. Josh Roberts opened the scoring after a startlingly good high ball catch executed at full throttle. Dom Bernhardt, Sidmouth's elusive new fly half, jinked his way through for a brace of well-deserved tries. Although try-less, Josh Golding took man of the match for his ever strong running and Oli Jones caught the eye with old school forceful play . Well done to the whole team.
