Sidmouth u12s vs Wimborne vs Honiton.

This season has produced sublime & ridiculous conditions and today was the former as  sun drenched the upper reaches of the glorious Sid Valley.

Again an injury ravaged U12 squad bravely fronted a weighty and worrying Wimborne mob who were in no mind to compromise ‘up front’.

A lesson in vigorous rucking ensued and the lads did well to limit the score to 3 tries against. Reinforcements were hastily substituted at half time and the mighty Finlay Johnson hit the ‘dance floor’ to stabilise the ship. Finlay Morgan took the reins at fly half and together went very close on separate occasions. But for an unlucky breakaway the 2nd half should have finished honours even.

Next up in the ‘3-way’ were Honiton’s Lace men. By now Sidmouth had regrouped and put together some fluent phases with Dix and Peacock showing stellar link play.

The pick of the tries came from Josh Roberts whos jinked and swerved his way in from 70 metres out and surely this performance has put him in line for his International call up.

By now blisters were popping, lungs were aching and the huge crowd had had their fill of a glorious days rugby. Well done to the  lads on their endeavours and the ladies for their Pavilion catering prowess.
