Sidmouth V Bridport

Another week, another unknown team, another victory!

Despite a bitterly cold wind, the sun was shining, the ground was firm and the spirits were high. This was the first time we had ventured East up the Jurassic coast and rumours were rife amongst the players who had googled Bridport that they were having a great season beating most of their local opposition.
Sidmouth travelled with just thirteen players so only had one replacement, the Bridport coach/referee suggested two twenty minute halves followed by a further game of ten minute halves. This meant we were hoping we had no injuries as the boys were playing a total of 60 minutes rugby. As it turned out the only injuries came late into the last 5 minutes so did not affect the game.
As with last week the Sidmouth boys got their first try with their first bit of possession which opened the flood gates. Aggressive rucking, intelligent running and unselfish passing were the orders of the day as try after try was scored. Late into the match Bridport, who had bravely continued to battle throughout finally got a score on the board much to the parents of both sides delight however the final score was 65 - 7 to Sidmouth.
