Sidmouth RFC U11's

After a substantial (10 weeks) weather induced layoff the boys first 2 matches unsurprisingly showed a distinct rustiness with both games lost away to Exmouth and Cullompton so with a rare weeks training it was back to basics.
The next match was a double header against 2 strong opponents, Topsham and Withycombe. Withy were first up on a glorious sunny morning and Sidmouth quickly re discovered their mojo that had been lost over the previous rain filled month and proceeded to take their opposition apart running out 49-14 winners. With only a 5 minute break it was back into action this time against Topsham, tired and playing up hill this was an all together different game however the boys continued to play with guts and adventure and ran out 14-7 winners.
This week we had the visit of a touring team from Broad Plain, Bristol who were an unknown quantity and boasted several enormous lads and looked like they would pose a big threat. This very quickly proved not to be the case as by keeping the ball moving and out of contact Sidmouth were able to run them ragged. This was the most technically adept display of rugby I have seen from the boys so far as they ran in try after try winning the match 61-0.
So, a great weekends rugby, sunshine, England, Exeter Chiefs and Sidmouth U11's all winning, happy days.
