Sidmouth under 10's V Exmouth

Sidmouth v's Exmouth away at Exmouth.

A great day for rugby down at Exmouth saw Sidmouth overhaul Exmouth 45 - 20.

The young Sids started slowly, with an lack of belief, which seems to be their way this season.

They soon came to life after a line out which Exmouth put in 10m from the line, saw Sids' Charlie McCaig feed James Nicholls, who running a full tilt was pushed into touch.

After the line out a lovely long pass from Thomas Mead to Charlie McCaig fed new boy Ashok Prasad, who made a great run scoring Sidmouth's 1st try,

Ashok's 1st match and he is on the scoreboard.

Great passing after a scrum gets Sidmouth right up to the Exmouth line, and after another scrum and ruck Charlie McCaig gets the put down.

Sidmouth kick off and Charlie passes to James Nicholls who runs like the wind but gets taken out, but Charlie neatly picks up and goes over for try number five. Half time.

Exmouth kick off and after a scrum and a couple of mauls the ball out to their big blonde who goes over for a try, great passing from Exmouth.

rucks through the middle Thomas picks up and goes over for a try. After the restart Sidmouth are awarded a penalty for an infringement by Exmouth, Charlie takes it and passes back to James who runs head down, right through the middle for another score.

Another scrum sees Sidmouth get the ball out to Matt Oliver who goes over, nice work by the Sids. Great defence from Sid mouth as Exmouth drive forward, but they are thwarted as Charlie put their player in to touch.

In the dying minutes young Joe Tozer scores after a solid move from the Sids forwards, but a clever intercept from Exmouth, ten meters from the Sidmouth line, see them go over for the last try if the match.

"The boys did really well today", said Coach Mark Williams on the touch line, "I was proud of the boys today, another fine display, and a well deserved win, their third of the season".

And finally a big thanks for another fine turnout of supporters.
