Sidmouth Vs Chipping Sodbury U10s

On a bright Sunday morning, the main Sidmouth rugby ground played host to the touring Chipping Sodbury RFC. With this being a Half-term fixture the numbers were depilated but this didn't stop the boys and girls having some fun.

Having 5 teams all playing at once on the main pitch meant a good atmosphere as a warm-up to the Argentina vs Australia team later in the afternoon.  Chipping Sodbury arrived with small numbers so there wasn't officially an U10s team.

Some of the Sidmouth U10s joined forces with the U11s which brought some smiles to their faces as they could now (legally) kick the ball!! Both Finn Cotton and Luca Manning held their own each going over the whitewash against the opposition.

The rest of the Sidmouth U10s faced Chipping Sodbury U13s but in tag only (for safety reasons). That caused a few problems for the U10s as they were up against some faster and bigger children. However the home side managed to score on more than one occasion and overall it was good to improve their offloading.

At the end of the game the children were left exhausted on the floor! Hot dogs nicely finished off a mornings rugby with the children looking forward to Topsham next week. Thanks to Chipping Sodbury for making the trip to Devon, everyone had a great time.  Special thanks go to Julie Tanner, Sue Cockayne, Emma Bagwell and the various daughters who did a magnificent job of the catering.
