U10s Tiverton–v- Sidmouth

Great result for Sidmouth Under 10’s – winning 18 – 1 against Tiverton

After a couple of weeks cancellations due to weather and poor pitches, it was with great anticipation that Sidmouth Under 10’s travelled to Tiverton; although there were a few of the usual team missing, a strong Sidmouth side trained hard and put forward an enthusiastic squad to face the Tiverton challenge.

The team effort was brilliant, the communication between the forwards in attacking, passing and supporting play was excellent with Will Bolton being set up for 7 great tries and Tom Fletcher also running a further 3 tries over the line.  The Sidmouth defence although not challenged too often, when they were put up a great defence, showing determination and confidence even on their own line to hold their nerve and defend soundly, only allowing one Tiverton try to pass them.

Ben Fisher was a brilliant scrum half, with great passing by Laurence Walker who drove the ball forward whenever he had it, Ryan Cozens took the ball over the line for two tries with Will Cockayne-Cottrell playing a great supportive game and also taking the ball over for a try.  Louis Cornick had a brilliant game with all round good play, and scoring 3 tries.  Finlay Hobday and Oliver Mitchell put the icing on the cake with further try each – giving final score of 18 – 1 to Sidmouth.

The whole team was congratulated for their good team work, communication, passing and tactical play which helped to deliver a result that reflected their consistent hard work together as a team.

Man of the Match went to Louis Cornick for great all round work and also to William Cockayne-Cottrell for his supportive play and teamwork.
