Sidmouth won a hard thought game

Topsham club-side, 5,  Sidmouth 2nds 16
Sidmouth won a hard thought game against Topsham, in a game what had the pleasure of hail, rain and a bit of sunshine.
The Quins managed to muster 14 players, of which 3 were colts, Topsham kindly lent one, from their large squad to make up the numbers.
Ben Pratt kicked Sidmouth in front with a well taken penalty after Topsham infringed in the ruck.
The home side replied with a forwards try in the top corner.
Ben Salter spun away from his tackler just before the 22, sprinting in under the posts to restore Sidmouths advantage, Pratt added the extras.
With both sides trying to spin the ball wide in awful conditions there were numerous errors.
Ben Pratt again punished the home side with another well struck penalty for a half time lead 5-13.
The second half saw Sidmouth go down to 12 players for final 10 minutes after losing Dan Rugg, Ben Salter and Dan Colson
A great effort by both sets of players resulted in just one more penalty from the reliable boot of stand-off Ben Pratt for a final score of Topsham 5 SRFC 2nds 16.,
Dan Pollington who at last managed to get through a full game, the returning James Salter plus , Chris Otway, Josh Reed, Roger Goulding(Captain), Johnny Youngman, Guest Player, Dan Rugg, Dan Thomas, Cam Grainger, Ben Pratt, Ben Salter, Dan Colson,Jamie Balloch and Adam Squance all deserve credit for the effort what went in to claiming a very good win.
