Draws are a rarity in rugby but not for the 2nds

Sidmouth 14 Crediton 14

Draws are a rarity in rugby, the Quins played out their third in a row !!.
A player shortage on Friday evening was eased, the colts away match at Okehampton falling to a frozen pitch.
Sidmouth started the stronger of the 2 sides moving the ball wide often.
A quick penalty enabled Jay Wright to combine with Captain Scott Davies to touch down, close to the touch line,
Ben Ward dissected the uprights for a 7 point lead.
Crediton then had a good spell of pressure, missing 1 penalty attempt, and twice denied tries with some resolute defending.
Dan Colson put in a fierce tackle which forced the visitors to drop the ball, Ben Pratt scooped the ball up just inside his own half, beating 2 covering defenders to score in a similar place to the first try, Ben Ward repeated his first conversion for 14 point lead.
As often this season the Quins switched off just before half time allowing Crediton to score a converted try.
Several changes at half time to give all who had turned up game time, including a welcome return for Frank Helmer, who certainly helped to shore up at scrumage time.
Both sides had chances to score before Crediton got the equalising score, a catch and drive from a 5 metre line out.
This week the Quins travel to Newton Abbot for a merit table game. Hopefully Robert Baugh won't be so busy on the phone Friday evening trying to raise a side !!!!.
