Sidmouth 2nds v Brixham 2nds Away

Brixham 38 Sidmouth 15

The Quins lost out in a hard- fought  match down at Torquay.
Sidmouth had two long range penalty attempts which fell just short within the first 10 minutes. They then lost Ben Halford with a split eye after an off the ball punch.

A scrum on the home sides five metre line was disrupted by the impressive Sidmouth scrum, the ball squirting out, Steve Trim was first to react to pounce for the first try. Ben Pratt added the extras.
As often this season the Quins relaxed and let the home team score almost immediately. Just before half time Torquay increased their lead with a converted try.

Sidmouth started the second half brightly, with the hosts conceding a penalty in front of their own posts for dangerous play, which was only deemed worth a strong talking to, surprising not only the visitors but a few home players as well. Pratt slotted the three points. Barney Goss playing for the first time in four weeks, broke through the middle, off loading to  James Powell, who had the speed to score wide out for a slender lead.

Torquay hit back with a well worked try up the blindside which was excellently converted.
Sidmouth worked hard in getting into attacking areas, only for a loose pass or knock on stopping another score. Twice while in Torquay's defensive quarter, the home side countered and went the length of the feild to score.
Despite the score line all worked very hard, agreeing a better attendance at training, to work on fitness, a closer outcome would have been achievable.
This week the Quins travel to Barnstable.
