2nds fine win away at Paignton

Paignton 2nd 7  Sidmouth 2nd 31

Sidmouth Quins enjoyed a fine away win at Paignton in a friendly fixture, it again proved to be a good all round team performance, the forwards functioning well in all departments providing plenty of quality ball for the backs to be creative, not all the moves came off but what did certainly looked good from the touchline.

Flanker Ryan Davies opened the scoring, peeling off a maul on the 22 and powering away to score under the posts, young fly half Harry west converting. A sweeping move down field saw full back Ben Salter put away on an overlap scoring wide out, without wasting effort Harry West converting, the ball just clearing the crossbar. Sidmouth deserved more for their efforts and got it on half time when centre Ben Pratt was on hand to finish another flowing move, an even more relaxed Harry West adding the extras, the ball this time going over with the aid of the crossbar, giving a 21 point lead at the break.

Paignton started the second half on a more positive note, having been guilty of kicking away too much possession in the first half, they kept the ball in hand and were rewarded with a converted try after  15 minutes. Sidmouth finishedthough with two excellent tries, man of the match Harry Chesterton’s sublime pass making it easy for Ben Salter to get his second and a 50 metre individual try from Ben Pratt who left all in his wake.

Next week Sidmouth are away to Brixham in the Merit Table hoping to avenge a 1 point defeat at home.
