CONGRATULATIONS TO SAM CAVIN

sam

Congratulations to Sam Cavin, who has been selected for the South West Under 18 squad to play games against a team from the Southern Area and Gloucester Academy. This is a stepping stone towards the England Counties Under 18 team. Following these two warm up games, the South West will play London and the South East at Chippenham on 19th February. Following this match the England Counties squad will be selected for matches against Ireland and France over Easter. This is a potential pathway into professional rugby for those not currently in the premiership academies.

CONGRATULATIONS TO LAIKA SWAIN

Following her selection for the Devon Under 15 girls squad, Laika Swain played in all of Devon's matches. As a result of her performances for the Devon team, she was selected to take part in the South West trials, which took place on 17th January.

Laika, who is the daughter of former Sidmouth player Eddie Swain, plays at tight head prop. Following the trails, she has been selected for the South West squad to play against Canada later in the season.
