SIDMOUTH RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB LIMITED

Information to members following 12 March Board meeting.

There were 7 Directors present plus the President.

The meeting started with a short silence in memory of Tug Wilson.

The first item on the agenda was the new web site and Pete Bond, who is the web master, gave a brief overview of the facilities and the plans for the future.

The new site is still a work in progress but is a significant improvement. The Board expressed their thanks to Pete and EDIT for all their hard work.

Kerin Hamil took the Board through the process for the club to become “accredited” by the RFU and it was agreed to hold a special meeting with an RFU representative as soon as possible. The Board hope that accreditation can be achieved in the near future.

Discussions were underway regarding the appointment of a new Director of Rugby and coach(es) for the next season.

As usual there were many other items. These included;

1. volunteers – these are needed in most areas of the club. Members are to be

asked to offer their help in an area appropriate to them. Currently operating

the gate on match days is a major need.

2. it was agreed that there would be a memorial match for Tug Wilson on Easter

    Sunday.

3. Sidford Pavilion – nearing completion. Formal opening planned May/June.

4. Match Day experience for the ladies had been a success – two events are

    being planned for next season.

5. the Twickenham Head Groundsman had visited and provided advice re the

    Grounds.

6. good progress was being made re completing the lease for the Prettyjohn field.

It was agreed that the next regular meeting would be held on Monday 16 April.
