Information to members resulting from the 22 August Board meeting.

All 10 members of the Board were present plus the President.

Richard Houghton Brown, who it is planned will take over from Paul Whitehouse as Treasurer at an agreed date in the future, was in attendance.

A range of issues were covered which included;

  1. clarifying the lines of communication re contacts with the press.
  2. the provision of an 8 page programme insert – the cost of which has in the main been covered by advertising/sponsors.
  3. an update on the proposed Match Day experience which will be available to both sponsors and members.
  4. the possibility of a special event in May 2012 in a marquee on the Blackmore to celebrate the 40 anniversary of the junior section.
  5. confirmation that the basic features of the new web site will be available in September.
  6. noting the significant funds raised by the Folk Week team.
  7. noting that the Health and Safety policy had been finalised and was being put on the club notice-board and web site.
  8. noting that the Sidford development was progressing to schedule.
  9. noting that two teams were going to Wellington. A BBQ is being planned at the Blackmore later that day for players, families etc
  10. the approval of a Complaints procedure
  11. the agreement to establish a disciplinary committee
  12. noting the availability of the RFU leadership course – younger, non board members to be encouraged to apply to attend.

It was agreed that the next meeting will be held at 7pm on Monday 3 October.
