Information to members resulting from 18 July Board meeting

Information to members resulting from 18 July Board meeting.

The Board meeting was held immediately after the closing AGM for the “old unincorporated association”. All members present were invited to stay on and listen to the Board meeting – a significant number did so.

The meeting was the most effective yet as the Board members in the main had produced written reports well before the meeting. This allowed everyone to come to the meeting prepared and ready to vote on any actions proposed.

There was a lot happening and the subjects covered included;

  1. approval of a Match Day income generation experience initiative - an opportunity for sponsors and members to enjoy hospitality including lunch, tea, draw etc and input from a first team squad player.
  2. EDIT had been asked to produce a new web site as a matter of urgency -.the funding for this would be provided by the 300 Club.
  3. Paul Whitehouse announcing his decision to stand down as Treasurer as soon as a replacement could be found. The Chairman said that Paul deserved a massive thank you for all his years of service to the club – there was unanimous agreement and spontaneous applause.
  4. noting that work was progressing well on the Sidford Pavillion and car park development.
  5. noting that the Health and Safety policy had been finalised and that posters were up relating to this.
  6. noting that the players evening had been a great success and that the first team squad were going on a team building day including paint balling
  7. good progress is being made with both the club Welfare and Child Protection policies. Also a Complaints procedure had been finalised.
  8. it was agreed that all Board members should be CRB checked.

It was agreed that the next meeting of the Board will be held on 22 August.
