WORLD CUP WARM UP EVENT SUCCESS

The Rugby Club showed the type of event which will be put on for the community during the Rugby World Cup in the autumn, when more than 80 members and non-members, ladies and gentlemen, teenagers and OAPs, players and coaches gathered in the clubhouse to watch the opening match of the Six Nations Championship.

Most of those present enjoyed a curry before cheering England to victory over Wales at the Millenium Stadium.

Earlier in the evening, the club hosted a tag rugby festival involving four local primary schools.

A similar event is planned for the Ireland v England game on Sunday 1st March. Watch this space for details.
