Sidmouth Colts vs Honiton

Saturday 11th October

Honiton victorious in colt’s derby

Sidmouth started the game well, with strong scrummaging and well executed line outs that meant they had the majority of possession if not territory. Honiton did have some good set piece ball which they used well to allow their centres to run through from 25 meters out to score close to the posts after 15 minutes. The try was converted and Sidmouth came back after the restart with several strong runs from the Sidmouth forwards and with a series of penalties going in their favour found themselves close to the Honiton line and following a successful driving maul the ball was passed down the back line for Billy Colin to outflank Honiton's rush defence, cross the line and score in the corner. The try was not converted and though Sidmouth had some good ball and territory it was Honiton who scored next with their wing scoring a long range try from turnover ball. Half time Sidmouth 5 Honiton 14.

The second half saw Honiton score a further 4 tries and one conversion and despite the game being beyond doubt, Sidmouth finished with some spirited play until the final whistle brought play to an end with Sidmouth Colts 5 vs. Honiton Colts 36.
